Fines for Failing to Comply

As of 1st July 2021, if a new or renewed tenancy is signed for a Parkvale rental property, all Healthy Homes compliance items must be completed by the end of 90 days.

From the 1st of July in 2021, if a new, renewed or varied lease is entered into on the Parkvale rental property, all Healthy Homes compliance work must be done by the end of 90 days.

Tenancies that were signed from 1 July 2019 to 30 , June 20,21

  • The insulation of the ceiling and underfloor is required throughout Parkvale and New Zealand rental houses where it is reasonably practicable to put in.
  • A Healthy Homes Intent to Comply Statement, an Insulation Statement and an Insurance Statement should be included with any renewal, new or modified tenancy agreement.
  • Property managers and landlords have to keep records that demonstrate conformance with each Healthy Homes Standards that apply or will be applied during the tenancy of their rental properties.

From July 1st 2021

  • Property managers and private landlords must ensure that their rental properties are in compliance according to Healthy Homes Standard within 90 days of any new, renewed or varied tenancy.

Starting 1 July 2024

  • All rental homes have to meet the Healthy Homes Standard regardless of the time of the first day of tenancy.
