Fines for Failing to Comply

As of 1st July 2021, if a new, renewed or varied tenancy is signed on a Bay View rental property, all Healthy Homes compliance work must be completed by the end of 90 days.

When Do I need to be in compliance with The Healthy Homes Standards?

Tenancies established in the period between July 1st 2019 and the 30th June in 2021

  • The insulation of the ceiling and underfloor is a requirement for all Bay View and New Zealand rental homes where it’s reasonably practicable to put in.
  • A Healthy Homes Declaration of Intent as well as an Insulation Statement, and an Insurance Statement must be included with any new, renewed or varied tenancy agreement.
